So similar to having finally tried Umami Burger last week, I also (in the same week) also finally tried another San Francisco burger staple, Super Duper. For a while now since moving to San Francisco, I’ve driven or walked by their three San Francisco locations (in the Marina, Castro, and Downtown) but never actually stopped in to eat.
After a successfully happy hour downtown at Local Edition, my friends and I were starving, so we walked over a block to eat at Super Duper. The place itself reminded me of Chipotle in terms of design (concrete slab floors, wood furniture, not much on the walls), as did their emphasis on sustainably farmed, organic-when-they-can ingredients.
The menu is pretty straightforward (as is the food itself), with a variety of burgers, chicken, salads, shakes, etc. Definitely wanting to make sure I tried a little bit of everything, I got the mini burger with cheese (4 oz. patty vs. the 8 oz super burger), fries, and a chocolate malt—and it was definitely a lot of food.
